Licensing questions
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a single one-time purchase of $29. It's a perpetual license — it never expires — and includes one year of updates.
What does “one year of updates” mean?
Your license unlocks Pro on every ReadBack build released within a year of your purchase, and you keep using those builds forever. To get Pro features in builds released after that year, you can buy again to extend — but you never lose what you have.
How do I activate my license?
After checkout you get a CR1- key on the success page and by email. Paste it into ReadBack under Settings → License. Verification is fully offline — the app never phones home.
Do I need a Claude subscription?
Only for the Claude-powered descriptions of code and diagrams, which run through your own Claude CLI. Everything else works with no API key.
Can I get a refund?
